CHESAPEAKE HOMES WARRANTY SERVICE PROGRAMDuring normal working hours our Warranty Service Department will assist you with non-emergency and bona-fide emergency situations to the best of their ability. In order to service your new home in the most efficient manner, we accept warranty requests at twelve weeks and ten months intervals after occupancy or closing date, whichever occurs first. Any warranted items that have been reported to our office in writing will be serviced on this time schedule. Any items of a nature which you feel should not wait until the twelve weeks or ten months intervals may be reported, in writing, to our office during the first year warranty period. Unless of an immediate priority nature, items submitted prior to the twelve week and ten month interval will be held on file and reviewed at the appropriate time. All service orders requiring appointments with subcontractors/suppliers must be made and completed prior to the end of your first year after occupancy/closing. EXCLUSIONSThe normal day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the home is the homeowner's responsibility. Refer to our Warranty Guidelines for specific details on items that do not fall under the terms and conditions of this warranty. REPORTING DEFECTS -- How the program worksProblems with appliances are to be reported directly to the service company (G.E.) under the manufacturer's warranty at 1-800-432-2737. All requests must be reported in writing. Approximately thirty days after move-in you will receive our "30 Day Courtesy Call" from our Warranty Service Department. The Warranty Service Department is interested in your overall purchasing and orientation experience to your new home. During the 30 day call, the Warranty Department will also discuss with you the timetables and process for submitting your Twelve Week Service Request Form and an Ten Month Service Request Form, should you chose to submit one. We also encourage you to complete our Thirty Day Questionnaire. Should you choose to submit a questionnaire via the web, you will not receive a phone call; however, you will receive an email addressing your 12 week and 10 month schedule. Completed service request forms must be returned within the twelve week and ten month time periods respectively to receive consideration. Each item listed on the service request forms should have the HW-10 Home Protection Policy or the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty sections, paragraph and page number noted next to each item on your request. See coverage pertaining to your policy below. Requests for non-emergency service must be received in writing, by mail/Email/FAX for the 12 Week Service Request Form and by mail/Email/FAX for the 10 Month Service Request Form. Be sure requests sent by mail are properly addressed to our Warranty Service Department, and that you keep a copy for your records and reference. Chesapeake Homes

Upon receipt of your Twelve Week Service Request Form, Chesapeake Homes will schedule a Warranty Service Inspection. During this inspection, we will review the list with you and determine what corrective work may be required and warranted. The same procedure will be repeated with the Ten Month Service Request Form prior to the end of the first year. Based on the results of the Warranty Service Inspection, Chesapeake Homes will issue service orders to subcontractors and suppliers as needed to correct warranted items. ALWAYS sign Service Orders when presented for your signature. Don't refuse to sign if something is unsatisfactory or incomplete; simply note it on the service order and notify our Warranty Service Department in writing of your dissatisfaction. Completion of this process from receipt of your service request form to completion of issued service orders will require approximately six weeks. If service is in any way different from what we promised, always respond promptly in writing. After walk-thru and closing, NEVER attempt to relay a request for service through our job superintendent, assistant superintendent, your sales agent, or a passing workman. We cannot assume responsibility for service requests made to anyone other than our Warranty Service Representatives. Please Note: Your 10 Month Warranty Service Request is directly affected by the one year anniversary of your closing. Accordingly, the Warranty Department can not process lists received after the 10 month anniversary of your closing. Should you need service not covered under the builder's warranty program, such as storm damage or damage caused by the homeowner, please refer to the numbers below. Service requested directly from these vendors, not covered by the builder's warranty, will be invoiced directly to the homeowner.
